Rewardly - Motivate Your Habits With Custom Rewards
Build better habits and stay consistent by rewarding yourself - not just with a streak, but with points, surprises, and real-life treats you actually want.
Available on the App Store: Rewardly on iOS
Core Loop
- Do a habit (daily, weekly, or flexible)
- Get a randomized point drop (Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary)
- Points go into your Piggy Bank
- Redeem for rewards you created (new shoes, spa day, whatever keeps you going)
Key Features
- Randomized point drops that scale with difficulty and streak length
- Custom rewards: set what you are working toward and their point cost
- Streak tracking and gentle encouragement messages
- Daily and weekly habit types (with cooldown once completed)
- Progress bars showing how close you are to each reward after every drop
- Simple, calm UI with two tabs: Habits and Rewards
- No ads, no noise
Points System
Each completion rolls a drop rarity:
- Common / Rare / Epic / Legendary Higher difficulty + longer streak = better chances at higher tiers. Legendary hits feel great and show you how close you are to unlocking specific rewards.
Rewards
You define the motivation: gear, experiences, treats, rest days. When you have enough points, you claim it and it shifts to your history (optional hiding of completed rewards).
Motivation Design
- Variable reward schedule (randomized drops) keeps it interesting
- Visible progress toward concrete personal rewards
- Cooldown prevents spamming a habit for points
- Positive, low-pressure messaging instead of guilt
Tech Stack
- Expo (build and deploy for iOS and Android from one codebase)
- React Native UI
- Local state + persistence for habits, streaks, rewards (lightweight, no external backend)
Why I Built It
Wanted a lightweight way to practice consistent habits and experiment with:
- Gamification mechanics (variable rewards, rarity feedback, progress salience)
- Clean minimal UI for quick daily use
- Managing streak logic and point probability weighting
- End to end mobile pipeline: certificates, TestFlight, App Store submission, metadata, review process
- Shipping a single codebase to iOS (and future Android) via Expo
Notes
Focused on intrinsic + light extrinsic motivation. Intentionally no social feed, leaderboards, or dark patterns.
